The 14th Annual 140 Golf Invitational hosted by Lube-Tech took place Saturday, August 19, at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Listed as one of the Top 10 charity golf events in the Twin Cities by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the 140 Invitational benefits Children’s Cancer Research Fund.  Last year’s event fought rain, but this year’s saw one of the best weather days of the summer with plenty of sun and comfortable temperatures.

The 140 Golf Invitational continues to grow, and the 2017 event surpassed many of last year’s numbers including:

> 184 golfers – 32-percent increase over last year

> 20 new sponsors

> 270 people enjoyed dinner, live auction and entertainment by Deuces Wild

> $300,000 was raised for Children’s Cancer Research Fund – 27-percent increase vs. 2016

In addition, money raised from the 140 will provide funding for Sibshops for a full year. Sibshops provides activities, crafts, games and field trips for siblings to learn, have fun and a place for them to ask questions and cope with their emotions.

Fund A Need donations support research that benefits families fighting childhood cancer – before and after treatment. The late effects of cancer are far from “cured”.  CCRF has a Survivorship Program that focuses on the long term complications of childhood cancer treatment, known as late effects, can be caused by treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and bone marrow or stem cell transplants.

The 140 runs on volunteers, and the day could not have happened without the 40 Lube-Tech employees that volunteered and were on-site for the event.  For everyone involved, we hope you had a good time and will join us next year.
